Instruction guide
Set up your email
Check mail in the browser at webmail.enmail.co, or add the mailbox to iPhone, iPad, Android, Mac, Windows and Thunderbird. Use IMAP so Mail, Sent and folders stay in sync on every device.
Choose your device
Pick the phone, tablet or app you are setting up. We guess from this browser, and you can switch at any time.
iPhone or iPad
Uses the Mail app that comes with iOS and iPadOS.
Open Mail settings
- Go to Settings, then Apps, then Mail, then Mail Accounts.
- On older iOS: Settings, Mail, Accounts.
- Tap Add Account, then Other, then Add Mail Account.
Enter who you are
- Name — what people see when you write to them.
- Email — your full address.
- Password — your mailbox password.
- Description — anything you like, such as Work.
- Tap Next.
Choose IMAP and add the servers
- Tap IMAP at the top.
- Incoming Mail Server, Host Name: mail.enmail.co
- User Name and Password: full address and mailbox password.
- Outgoing Mail Server, Host Name: mail.enmail.co
- User Name and Password again — the same values.
- Tap Next, then Save. If iOS asks you to trust a certificate, tap Continue.
Enter these values when the app asks for servers
- Incoming server
- mail.enmail.co
- Incoming protocol
- IMAP
- Incoming port
- 993
- Incoming encryption
- SSL/TLS
- Outgoing server (SMTP)
- mail.enmail.co
- Outgoing port
- 465
- Outgoing encryption
- SSL/TLS
- Username
- Your full email address
- Password
- The password we issued
- Authentication
- On — incoming and outgoing
- SPA / Secure Password Auth
- Off, especially in Outlook
To check ports later: Settings → Mail → Accounts → your account → Account → Advanced. Incoming 993 with SSL. SMTP mail.enmail.co, port 465, SSL.
Quickest option
Use webmail in the browser
You can read and send mail on any device without installing an app. Open the link, then sign in with your full email address and mailbox password.
Check it works
- Send a test to an address you can open, or to yourself.
- Confirm it appears in Sent on this device — and on your other IMAP devices.
- Ask someone to reply and watch Inbox.
- Add the same IMAP account on every other phone or computer you use.
If it does not connect
- Username is the full address, not just the part before @.
- Watch Caps Lock and stray spaces in the password.
- Ports are 993 in and 465 out, both SSL/TLS. Do not use 25, 587 or None unless we say so.
- In Outlook, SPA stays off.
- When the new account works, remove any old copy that still points at a previous host.
